  • The Carer Gateway website is all about meeting your needs as a carer. Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged.

  • As the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rolls out in each state and territory, most Commonwealth disability programs will end.
  • In March 2019, the Australian Government announced that Commonwealth funding for most transitioning programs has been extended up to 30 June 2020 to help providers support eligible clients remaining in programs to transition to the NDIS.

The NDIS can provide all people with disability with information and connections to services in their communities such as doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services

  • We also support people aged 7-65 with disability who are not eligible for the scheme by connecting them to services and supports in their local community.
